Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health is a non-profit organisation that provides community health services in Sunbury and surrounding regions in Victoria. ODC Design was engaged to uplift key areas within one of their healthcare centres with a goal to enhance inclusivity, accessibility, and functionality for the people it serves. We took great care in designing and delivering spaces that would meet the diverse needs of all who use them – from an engaging and accessible main entrance and reception to disability-friendly features, such as low counters and mobility-friendly areas. We refreshed the dentistry section with an improved sterilisation room for better clinical efficiency and infection control, and upgraded their paediatric wing with two new clinic rooms, an expanded storeroom, revamped offices and workstations, and specialised telehealth booths. Thoughtfully planned improvements were made to the kids’ waiting area, a wellness room, and a parents/carers room, while a new administration office has provided staff with updated workstations and shared facilities to support collaboration.
