As the regional headquarters of a global trading and investment enterprise, Sumitomo Australia sought a refurbishment that would combine modern updates and aesthetics with enhanced functionality. Core updates throughout the 317sqm space included a more contemporary and brand‑aligned palette, new joinery, energy-efficient LED lighting to increase brightness and revitalise the space, and refreshed flooring including timber, carpet and vinyl. The entry was fitted with a custom designed and more accessible reception counter with feature backlit signage, plus fresh lounge furniture to complement the updated palette, while the boardroom table was refurbished to elevate its finish and presentation. Functional improvements included modifying an existing office to accommodate extra staff members, supported by acoustic panelling to refine sound quality, a new quiet room for private calls and focused work, and a redesigned workspace layout to enable increased staff capacity – equipped with improved storage, new sit/stand workstations, and acoustic panels on all sides for added comfort and privacy. We also enhanced functionality in the kitchen by integrating the bins into custom joinery to allow for a larger communal table for everyday use.
